Source Logistics Highlighted in McKinsey Report on U.S.-Latin America Trade

Source Logistics is featured in a new report from the McKinsey Institute for Economic Mobility, "The hidden opportunity in the next $2 trillion of US–Latin America trade," published October 19, 2026.
Trade between the U.S. and Latin America is big business. McKinsey estimates that goods and services moving between the two regions were worth about $1.5 trillion in 2025.
But the report found a gap in how those goods reach people. About 75% of that trade comes through just a handful of major ports and trade hubs, and those hubs reach only about 16% of U.S. Latinos.
In other words, most Latin American products arrive in a few places. The customers looking for them live all over the country.
Where Source Fits In
Source Logistics was founded by Latino entrepreneurs, and serving the U.S. Latin American market has shaped how we’ve grown from the start. Our focus has been bringing Latin American goods, especially food and beverage, closer to the communities buying them. Through acquisitions and new warehouse builds, our network has grown to 5.8 million square feet nationwide.
McKinsey’s report points to that approach as one example of how the distribution gap can close.
Our growth reflects a simple idea: a distribution network should follow demand, not just the ports of entry.
Today, our network connects our Laredo operation, with CTPAT certification, Foreign Trade Zone operations and a bilingual English and Spanish team, to distribution in Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago and New Jersey.
Why It Matters for Brands
For food and beverage, CPG and retail brands importing from Latin America or selling into U.S. Latino markets, the report reinforces what we see on the floor every day. Getting product across the border is only the first step. Getting it to the right market, on time and retail-ready, is where the opportunity is won or lost.
We're proud to be part of this conversation and grateful to McKinsey for highlighting the role logistics plays in it.
Source Logistics helps food and beverage, CPG and retail brands move products from Latin America to U.S. shelves through a vast national warehouse network and retail-ready value-added services. Connect with our team to talk about where your inventory should land.
