Scaling Success: What Source Logistics’ Investments in Warehousing, Tech & Leadership Mean for your Business

Written by Raul Villarreal, CEO | Mar 28, 2025 9:00:00 AM

In August 2024, we unveiled an ambitious growth strategy designed to meet the surging demand for Latin American goods across the United States. With a strong foundation in warehousing, transport management, and e-commerce fulfillment, we set out to expand our capabilities and solidify our position as the leading 3PL for LATAM brands entering the U.S. market.

Delivering on our vision: key investments and milestones

In only eight months since announcing our growth strategy, Source Logistics has taken bold steps to deliver on our plans with enhanced infrastructure, leadership, and technology to better serve our clients. Some of the major investments we’re particularly proud of include:

Strategic leadership expansion

To drive our vision forward, we have strengthened our leadership team with key appointments over the last 6 months:

  • Andy Smith as Chief Operating Officer (COO)
  • Christina Chapman as Vice President of Marketing
  • Marc Levin as Vice President of Business Development
  • Plus a new highly experienced sales team with members based in the U.S, Mexico, and Colombia

These additions bring decades of relevant industry expertise, ensuring that we remain agile and responsive to the evolving needs of LATAM brands expanding into the U.S. and domestic brands with rapidly growing consumer demand.

Acquisition of LaGrou Distribution’s warehousing business

A major milestone in our expansion was the recent acquisition of LaGrou Distribution’s warehousing business. This development added 8 new warehouses in the greater Chicago area, significantly increasing our storage capacity for refrigeration and frozen goods and further strengthening our distribution network. Combined with the rest of our network, we can now offer same day reach to 75% of U.S. consumers – creating an extraordinary opportunity for our own customers.

Texas Expansion: New warehousing facilities

Texas is a critical gateway for Latin American imports, and to better serve our clients, we have opened two new state-of-the-art warehousing facilities, bringing our total Texas locations to eight.

We have new facilities in:

  • Laredo, Texas – A key entry point for cross-border trade, improving our ability to manage high volumes of goods moving from LATAM into the U.S.
  • Dallas, Texas – Enhancing our reach and fulfillment capabilities in a major international logistics hub.

These facilities reinforce our ability to provide faster, more efficient distribution and fulfillment services and ensure our customers' products reach U.S. consumers with speed and reliability.

Investment in cutting-edge technology

As part of our commitment to innovation, Source Logistics is investing heavily in technology to optimize supply chain visibility, efficiency, and scalability. Our enhanced logistics technology solutions provide:

  • Real-time tracking and inventory management
  • Seamless customer onboarding and integration with e-commerce platforms
  • Rapid warehouse deployment for storage of seasonal, project, and disaster relief products
  • Predictive analytics to improve decision-making

These advancements ensure our customers experience greater operational efficiency and improved service reliability as they scale their U.S. operations.

Strengthening our position as the Go-To 3PL for LATAM brands

All these investments have been made with our customers’ future success in mind. We strongly believe in partnering with and growing alongside our customers, such as Mexlink, a loyal customer we’ve evolved with for over 20 years.

We take seriously our role as a trusted logistics partner for LATAM brands looking to expand in the U.S, and our specialized focus on food and beverage, retail, CPG, and health and beauty products uniquely positions us to support companies navigating the complexities of international trade, warehousing, fulfillment, and retail distribution.
