Source Logistics Receives 2025 Top Supply Chain Projects Award for Innovative “Warehouse in a Box” Solution
We’re proud to announce that Source Logistics has been named a recipient of the 2025 Top Supply Chain Projects Award, presented by Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. This award recognizes supply chain projects that are truly moving the needle, driving innovation, efficiency, and resilience across the industry.
Our winning entry? A groundbreaking pilot initiative known as “Warehouse in a Box.”
A New Approach to Temporary Warehousing
“Warehouse in a Box” is a rapid-deployment warehousing solution designed to solve one of the most urgent challenges in logistics today: how to set up temporary or flexible warehouse space quickly, affordably, and reliably, especially when traditional options fall short.
The concept is simple but powerful: equip and transform any usable space into a fully functional warehouse, complete with all necessary technology, equipment, and staffing - within just 7 to 10 business days from warehouse lease signing.
We’ve successfully piloted this solution with a select number of current customers, and the solution will more broadly available to new shippers in the future as we continue to expand. Our teams continue to test, refine, and improve the model to ensure it can deliver at scale, across diverse environments and customer needs.
Bridging Gaps in Moments of Urgency
From sudden spikes in demand to disaster recovery scenarios, many businesses and organizations need to quickly stand up operational warehouse space, often in locations without reliable power, connectivity, or infrastructure. “Warehouse in a Box” was developed as a modular, scalable, and pre-configured toolkit that can meet that need.
Everything is included: hardware, software, network infrastructure, warehouse management systems, and operational supplies, all built for fast setup. Most notably, Source Logistics can also provide trained staff to operate the facility, giving customers a truly turnkey experience.
“This project came out of real conversations with customers and communities who told us what they were missing,” said Bart Bullard, VP of Information Technology at Source Logistics. “We built the prototype to prove what’s possible, and it’s exciting to see it actively working in the field. While it’s not yet available to the public - yet - this award validates the potential and motivates us to take it even further.”
A Team-Driven Innovation
We’re grateful to the cross-functional team of engineers, IT professionals, logistics experts, and operations leaders who brought this prototype to life. Their creativity, commitment, and tireless work made this project a reality, and we thank them for helping Source Logistics stay on the cutting edge.
What’s Next?
As we continue to refine and test “Warehouse in a Box”, we look forward to expanding its availability in the near future. We’ll share more updates as the solution evolves.
For now, we thank Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics for this honor, and we thank our employees, partners, and pilot customers for believing in the idea and making it real.
Stay tuned—this is just the beginning!
